Oporto: What To Do During Winter

Obs: Devido ao comprimento deste post, o mesmo será apenas escrito em inglês. Peço desculpa.

I was challenged by Eventbrite - the largest self-service ticketing platform in the world that helps people find and plan events and sell tickets online - to create a 24 hour winter city guide for my hometown. Since I found that idea quite interesting, I decided to give it a shot.
As many of you may already know, I live in Oporto, Portugal. During the winter season it's when my hometown gets more special: Christmas lights in every street, a giant christmas tree in the main street and other festive activities spread all over the city.
I will try my best to remember the most important spots in town but I can't promise anything lol.

Let's start with breakfast. These are my favorite places that serve the best hot chocolate: Costa Coffee and Spirito Cupcakes & Coffee.

Then, you can enjoy the rest of your morning by visiting São Bento train station - which is considered the 8th more beautiful in the world - and the most famous shopping street Rua de Santa Catarina.

By the end of it you will need to stop for lunch, as a fast food lover, I recommend McDonald's located in Avenida dos Aliados. It is considered one of the most beautiful McDonald's in the world.

After lunch you want to have some fun, obviously. While you had lunch at McDonald's in Avenida dos Aliados, you can then visit the street, watch the giant christmas tree and decorations and take a walk on the ice rink. Or you can go to Rotunda da Boavista and enjoy there another ice rink and the caroussels.

You can go back to Rua de Santa Catarina to have a snack at my favorite place where they serve a traditional portuguese desert - World's Greatest Nata - or you can go to Majestic Café which has a finest architecture.

For dinner, I would recommend a place where you can enjoy a great, delicious and traditional meal. In Portobeer - located at Avenida da Boavista - you can have a traditional Porto dish called Francesinha.

Finally, to end your day, if you're a night lover you can enjoy the We Love Porto nights at Galerias Paris - the most crowded place with lots of fun clubs and bars.

So, guys that's it for today's post. I hope you enjoyed my recommendations and who knows if you might visit my hometown someday.
Have a nice weekend!
xoxo
